Aberdeen
Sheila Kendall organises activities for international
students in Aberdeen. Contact Sheila
to find out more about what's happening. There are several
events and groups for international students.
Friendship Link
International students who join the scheme are linked with local
families or individuals for friendship. The host family usually
invite two or three students to their home for a meal, or for
an outing of some kind three or four times a year. This often
leads to real friendship between the student and local person.
CAMEO
This is a group for international women: practise your English,
make new friends and learn about British culture. Children
are welcome. We meet on Friday mornings, during term time,
at The Chaplaincy Centre, 25 High Street, Old Aberdeen, from
10am to 11.30am. For more information contact Sheila
or phone Jeanette on 07981 327 901.
International Bible Study
An opportunity to find out about Christianity, make friends,
and practise your English. We meet every Tuesday at The Mission,
on the corner of Dunbar Street and St Machar Drive. We start
at 7pm with tea/coffee and pizza and finish at 9pm. Meetings
continue throughout the year, along with occasional walks
and outings. Come and find out more at our Welcome Night on
August 31st 2010, 7pm. Contact Sandy
Moir or look at our website.
Amigos
Relax at the cafe, play badminton,
table tennis, snooker etc, make new friends. Amigos meets
at the YMCA, Skene Terrace on Thursdays 7:30 - 10pm, during
term time. For more information email Jacqui
